Our history

Welcome to our Rashomon Escape Game “About” page. We are super happy to tell you the history and origin of our escape game, as well as to introduce you to the founders of this incredible adventure: Jean and Jay.


It all started with our shared passion for escape games. We said to ourselves that we could create a completely immersive and unique experience in Paris. We realized that escape games were a great opportunity to challenge creative minds, foster collaboration and bring excitement to players. This is where the idea of our own escape game germinated, inspired by the famous Japanese film "Rashomon" by Akira Kurosawa, which explores different perspectives and the notion of truth.

What is an escape game and why is it called an “ live escape game ”?

The escape game is a life-size escape game that is very popular around the world, and which has been established in France since 2013, initially in Paris, then throughout the rest of the country.

Inspired by video games “escape room” where the player must escape from a room by exploring it and collecting clues to allow them to solve puzzles, escape games combine the best of these puzzle games by offering a room with decor around the same theme (or as we would say Escape Game Paris “in immersion in a setting, a universe”), all in live escape.

And to spice up this escape game session, your team, made up of 2 to 6 people, will have one hour to find a way to get out of the room and solve all the puzzles! To succeed in your mission, time matters and will therefore be a key element of your gaming session…
